Wishing all of our Parishioners a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Dear Parishioners, In 2005, I never imagined how quickly 12 years could pass. Nevertheless we are at this point in time. Although there will be a change in Bishops this January 31st, the Diocesan policy is still in effect that a priest can remain in a parish for two, six year terms as Pastor. I am in their effect, term limited. At this time, it is with sadness that I inform you that in June of this year I will be transferred to another Parish and a new Pastor will be named here at St. Christopher's. As of now, I myself do not know where my new assignment will be.
There will be an Open Meeting for all parishioners to offer input into the appointment of a new Pastor for St. Christopher's Parish. Parishioners will beinvited to indicate the skills and qualities they feel are necessary to lead the parish into the future and to share their thoughts on specific needs the parish may have.
Bishop Andrzej Zglejszwski, the Vicar, Msgr. William Koenig, the Area Dean and Msgr. Peter Pflomm, Director of Clergy Personnel, will be present to conduct and participate in the meeting.
Date: Thursday, January 19th, 2017 Time: 7 p.m. Place: McGoldrick Hall For most priests, including myself, this is a very awkward time. It has been said to be the longest wake. I will be told countless times, "this is your last…." Although this is true, there is still much that I would like to accomplish and do over these next five months.
My time here has been very rewarding. We have met many challenges but, have also accomplished many great things throughout these years as a Parish. All that has been achieved could not have happened if it was not for you. I will be forever grateful for all that you have done for me. I am thankful that our paths have crossed and you will always be in my prayers.
If you are newly moved into our parish or are established residents but not registered, we welcome you to our parish family. If you have not already done so please select the button below, print, complete and return the Parish registration form to us, so that you can be counted.
